Watchkeeper contacted by Solent CG following emergency call from MoP reporting small vessel adrift with 2 POB. Gave full description of RIB and POB. Confirmed in no apparent danger. Solent CG requested continued observation but sighting lost. RIB later returned westwards and Solent CG advised accordingly.
Identification Stickers
Very useful information from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. Free identification stickers available from their link for your equipment. If you ever lose any equipment on the coast, call Solent Coastguard to report it. They keep a national log of all lost and found items.
Tombstoning – Mamhead Slipway
Tombstoning shatters lives. Jumping into cold water on hot days seems like fun. Marine areas have hidden obstacles at unknown depth and can cause serious injuries or even fatal. Please be aware of beach signs, especially those at Mamhead slipway. If you see anyone in trouble, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

Incident – Engine Failure
Phone call to NCI from jet ski in estuary with engine failure.Solent CG informed. Jet ski subsequently advised that engine now started and later reported safely ashore. Solent CG advised accordingly.
