Annual General Meeting
Yesterday evening NCI Exmouth held its delayed Annual General Meeting over the digital platform Zoom. There were a lot of new Watchkeepers who have joined the station since Covid has been with us. With the easing of restrictions by the end of the month we are confident that our next General Meeting will be a much needed face-to-face affair.
Exmouth From The Air
Thanks to Keith, one of our watchkeepers, who took this video on his way back from Lanzarote, showing a bird’s eye view of the coastline from the River Exe to the River Otter, including the Royal Marines firing range at Straight Point.
HMCG 200th BIRTHDAY
Her Majesty’s Coastguard is celebrating it’s 200th Birthday today. National Coastwatch is one of their Declared Assets, and we are proud to work with them every day, helping to preserve and protect life at sea.
Our station on Exmouth Seafront is responsible for Dawlish Warren, Exe Estuary, the Jurassic coast from Orcombe Point and the River Exe to Topsham and we occupy a Victorian Building built in 1896.
Exmouth NCI would like to say a big Happy Birthday to HM Coastguard.
Yearly Totals 2021
Our yearly totals have been published.
We recorded 21,421 marine vessel movements past our lookout in 2021. We had 46 reportable incidents to Her Majesty’s Coastguard and logged a further 36 recordable incidents that our trained Watchkeepers dealt with.
For a full range of the types of incidents we assisted our Search and Rescue colleagues click on Incidents/Current on the menu bar.
We are on duty 7 days a week throughout the year.
