Incident – Jet Ski Grounding/Engine Failure
NCI monitoring jet ski grounded on sand bank. MoP advised engine failure. HMCG & RNLI Lifeguards advised by NCI. Both casualties, wearing buoyancy aids, returned to shore by RNLI Lifeguards jet ski. NCI advised Harbour Master of abandoned jet ski on sand bank. Jet ski later recovered to the beach.
Incident – Smoking Fishing Vessel
Watchkeepers observed fishing vessel 155 degrees, 2nm from lookout, with smoke coming from stern. Advised HMCG who requested NCI maintain observation and report any changes. Fishing vessel later on the move. No further smoke from stern.
Incident – Welfare Concern
Call from Police Control Room. Information re-MoP possibly on Exmouth beach. Concern for their welfare. Area searched. No trace.

NCI Exmouth had a visitor last week: Alison Hernandez, Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon and Cornwall. She was met by our Station Manager, Peter Oliver at our lookout, who explained our role in the Search and Rescue family, as well as our aims as a charity and our unique position on Exmouth seafront.

Notice is given that Lateral Port Mark No.6 is off station. The buoy will be replaced as soon as possible.
Mariners are advised to navigate with caution in this area.
Incident – RIB Grounding
NCI observed RIB grounded on sands. HMCG advised. Lifeguards jet ski approached to help. RIB declined assistance. NCI maintained observation. RIB later underway with 2 people onboard.
Incident – Grounded Sports Fishing Vessel
MoP informed HMCG of sports fishing vessel grounded on Pole Sands. Two people in water attempting to free vessel. NCI had visual and advised HMCG. NCI monitoring. Dinghy approached and supported. Vessel freed and motored away. NCI updated HMCG. Exmouth ILB launched and made contact with vessel.
