Exe Estuary Codes of Conduct
The Exe Estuary Management Partnership (EEMP) have worked with local users and clubs to produce a set of codes of conduct for the Exe Estuary area. The DRAFT codes of conduct are now available for public feedback over a six-week period, from 25 January to 7 March (deadline 5pm). Further details can be found on the EEMP website .
Of particular interest to Exmouth NCI Coastwatch members is the Water Users Code, in which we have a role to play (see below). Watchkeepers who wish to address any items concerning Coastwatch should first raise them with the Station Manager/Committee, which does not, of course, preclude them from raising other items from the draft codes as concerned local residents.
Valentine's Sea Race - Result
Sadly, the winner of Saturday's Valentine's Sea Race, to celebrate the start of the 25th Anniversary of the Exmouth Rowing Club, was the weather!! But, not to be outdone, the ERC arranged an indoor event which was also attended by members of Exmouth NCI Coastwatch, who are being sponsored by the ERC in what is the 20 year anniversary of the Tower above the Harbour View Cafe becoming the look-out station for the Exmouth branch of NCI.
Valentine's Sea Race
To begin their 25th Anniversary Celebrations Exmouth Rowing Club will be holding a Valentine's Sea Race commencing at 1100 on Saturday 10 February. This consists of a relay race from Exmouth seafront (10 buoy) to the Fairway buoy and back, featuring beach starts and finishes with the winning team collecting medals and a trophy. Come along to the seafront and see the ERC members in action.
Exmouth NCI Coastwatch will also be in attendance - call into Coastwatch House to speak to our watchkeepers, and visit the Tower (from 1200) to see what we do.
Exmouth NCI Coastwatch and the Rowing Club look forward to seeing you on the day.
