Amberwood Nursing HomeAfter a recent raffle, Amberwood Nursing Home donated the proceeds to two charities - Exmouth NCI Coastwatch was one of the lucky beneficiaries!!! Three of our members met the residents, one of whom, Gerald Heskins, was a former Exmouth NCI watchkeeper, and were presented with a cheque. Our grateful thanks to the residents, Matron and staff for their kind donation.
John Davies was presented with his 10 year certificate and badge and announced his retirement - our thanks to him for his contribution to Exmouth NCI as a watchkeeper and trainer. Our latest watchkeeper, Gary Sherman, was presented with his certificate and epaulettes. And welcome to Rena Evans who has recently joined.
Local Notices to Mariners
The Port of Exeter extends from Blackaller weir in the heart of the City to the safe water mark a mile or so out at sea off Exmouth . Exeter City Council is responsible for marking a navigation channel from the sea to just above Topsham. The Port area is subject to a maximum speed limit of 10 knots in the estuary and off shore. From time to time Local Notices to Mariners (Local NTM) are issued to alert water users of any activities which may affect their passage in the river and the estuary.
